The day started off with us "bridesmaid's to be" setting up the church hall to become the a hub of all things Claire. We made a den (like the one out of the film 'The Holiday' that Jude Laws children have in their playroom) it was amazing. Claire's housemates at uni had also done this for her birthday and she absolutely loved it, so we thought we'd do it again! We laid out all the food and Pippa (Maid of Honour) and her husband set up some of the games and laid the table ready for the evening meal.

To cut a long story short we literally just spent the day doing things that Claire LOVES. As mentioned there was already the pyjama attire and the creation of a magical den. But we also had a picnic lunch, a 2 hour Bollywood dance lesson, tea light decorating, games, home made curry for dinner, profiteroles, brownies and sparklers. It was perfect.
I don't get people that do Hen and Stag days/weekends where it just looks like the aim is to humiliate and embarass their supposed best friend. It was much more enjoyable to make Claire happy and celebrate her as a person before she moves onto the next stage of her life as a married woman.
I can only pray that if I get married one day my friend's will want to be as kind to me..are you reading this girls?!
