There's nothing quite like going to a quaint country pub out in the sticks to have a drink and relax with your friends. This is what I did yesterday and it was delightful. We went to a little place near Verwood that had changed hands since some of the guys had last been there but it had been refurbished and was absolutely beautiful inside. Low ceilings, beams, tartan, brown leather chairs, stone floors and one of the best bits...a little sunken den seating area where we all squashed into. There is also two open log fires but unfortunately these weren't lit while we were there..maybe next time. Even still, the atmosphere couldn't have been more suitable to sit, chat and collectively try and do the sudoku and answer the pub quiz questions in The Times.
Without a shadow of a doubt we'll be going back again in the not too distant future, not only on a warm summer's evening sitting in the beer garden but also because it's only £9.95 for two courses on a Sunday, and the puddings looked pretty good from where I was sitting...
